      Personal mail...

She was named after me......

My namesake Amapola and her husband

Found treasure in my guestbook...

One of the most riveting and most recent people I met via the internet was this beautiful young lady who signed one of my guest books. I replied immediately (shown here) and I will stop right here and not spoil the story. It's best you read it for yourself.

This new personal section was inspired by my namesake Amapola's letter. We will continue to feature interesting fan mail as we go along.

To fans and followers old and new, I am forever grateful for your loyalty.

For new friends (like my namesake Amapola), thank you for writing me.

 Hello there...
I am flattered you were named after me. Yes I would love to meet you too! I would love to feature a page on my website about our meeting, even if online. My webmaster Mack would have a field day! Send us your scanned image. Tell me more about you and your family...where are you from? What is your mother's name? Tell me more...
Best regards, Amapola

Hello Amapola,

Wow, what an honor it is to hear from you.  Do you go by the name Amy?
Because my friends know me as Ame (pronounced Amy).  To my family I'm known as Pola.  This is so exciting to be talking to someone I was named after.  I phoned my mother after I received your email and she was just estactic about my contact with you . I have to admit that I've never  listened to your songs but my mom just raves about how beautiful your voice is.  I'm going on your website to order your CD.

My mother's name is XXXXXXX, everyone calls her XXXX.  We are from the city Tarlac, Tarlac in the Philippines.  We immigrated to USA when I was two years of age.  I am now 29 with two beautiful boys.  XXX, XXXX, is seven years old and XXXX XXXXX  is three years old.  I live in San Jose, Ca but I miss living in San Francisco (my mom and I lived there for almost 10 years).

As I grew up, I honestly didn't appreciate my name because everyone
butchered it, as they tried to pronounce it (please, don't be offended).  I
grew up with girls who had names such as Tiffany or Elizabeth.  I struggled being the one with the difficult name.  But now, I am more proud of my name then ever.  I love my name, being it is very eccentric.

I can't wait to hear your music.  I see that you are also an author.  You
are quite an accomplished woman.  I will have to definitely get around to
reading your book.  Do you still perform?  I would love to attend one of
your concerts with my mother.  I attached a picture of me and my husband, XXX.

It's been a pleasure and honor from hearing from you.  Thank you for your time. Hope to hear from you again.
Warmest Regards,
Amapola
